PHF names senior and junior players for training camps

LAHORE: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) on Tuesday announced senior and junior players for training camps. The selection committee, headed by chief selector Hasan Sardar, named 34 players of the senior team camp for the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in April and Asia Cup in May. The first phase of the camp will be held from February 20 to March 3 while the second phase will start from March 10 in Lahore. The selection committee named 35 junior players team after two days of trials held at the National Hockey Stadium. The training camp will start from February 12 in Rawalpindi. The juniors will play a four-nation tournament in Malaysia and a five-nation tournament in Egypt in March.

Goalkeepers: Nasir Ahmad (PIA), Sajid (Railways), Waseem (Steel Mills), Muhammad Iqbal (Navy), Salman Akbar (NBP). Full-backs: Zeeshan Ashraf (NBP), Muhammad Imran (Army), Ehsan Ullah (PIA), Muhammad Kamran (Steel Mills), Rao Shahid (Army), Qaiser Raza (WAPDA), Sohail Abbas (WAPDA), Adnan Javed (PIA). Centre-halfs: Rana Asif (WAPDA), Dilawar Hussain (PIA), Muhammad Saqlain (ABL), Zeeshan Ali (KESC), Waseem Ahmad (WAPDA), Waqas Zafar (Army), Sibtain Raza (NBP), Khurram Shahzad (HBL).
